Brian Geitner

Brian Geitner, new president of Cox Automotive Media Solutions Group

Brian Geitner will be the new president of Cox Automotive’s Media Solutions Group. He is replacing Jared Rowe, who is leaving the company “for a new opportunity outside of the automotive industry”, according to the company.

Geitner will oversee Cox Automotive’s AutoTrader, Kelley Blue Book and brands. He has been at the company since 2012, first as CEO of Dealer Service Corp., and then – since 2015 – as president of the Financial Solutions Group. He also served as president of NextGear Capital.

Rowe joined the company in 2010, and was most recently president of both AutoTrader and Kelley Blue Book. He is a long-time auto guy, with roles at FordDirect, Autobytel and Central Atlantic Toyota Distributors, before joining Cox.

Geitner will report to Mark O’Neil, COO of Cox Automotive. He will start on Aug. 15.

A Q&A with Rowe appeared just two days ago on the Auto Remarketing website. Rowe didn’t indicate he was on his way out.

Here’s the full release.
