AutoVolo inks marketing deal with Tesco’s Waves

The U.K. automotive marketplace AutoVolo signed a two-way agreement with Waves, Tesco’s sole supplier of on-site, vehicle-cleaning services.

The deal will see AutoVolo adverts at (or in) more than 240 Waves locations nationwide. Waves sites clean on average 50,000 to 70,000 autos per week, and more than 3.5 million annually.

Waves customers will get a £10 ($13 U.S.) saving when advertising their vehicle on AutoVolo, and AutoVolo branding will also appear on air fresheners and branded paper mats at Waves locations.


In return, the online marketplace will publish an advertising banner and directory for the Waves autowash locations on its website.

AutoVolo’s sales director, Stuart Askey, said: “This is the first example of the different approach we are taking in building our brand awareness offline, in key locations where motorists frequently visit.

“The Tesco sites where Waves are situated collectively have a throughput of more than five million shoppers, meaning huge exposure for AutoVolo. We’re excited to be teaming up with Waves, a solid and well-run business that, like us, believes in new ways of thinking.”

AutoVolo now claims to have more than 4,000 dealers, with around 175,000 listed autos on its classified site.
