On Wednesday, Quikr.com, a leading general classifieds site in India, announced yet another acquisition. It acquired StayGlad, a beauty products and services site, to strengthen its beauty services vertical AtHomeDiva, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition increased Quikr’s presence in the south-Indian city of Bengaluru.
This is the third such acquisition by Quikr in the beauty services space. In the recent past, it acquired Salosa and ZapLuk. AtHomeDiva now offers beauty services in six cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Gurgaon and Hyderabad.
Bangalore-based StayGlad was founded in May 2015, by three alumni of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur – Prateek Jain, Shashank Gupta and Kavish Desai.
The company offers more than 100 types of beauty services. Quikr claims StayGlad has serviced tens of thousands of consumers over the past three months. After less than a year in operation, it handles hundreds of orders per day at an average value of $1,400 per transaction. The 100-member team of StayGlad – including its founders and stylists – will be absorbed by AtHomeDiva, according to a news release issued by Quikr.
Besides acquiring companies in the beauty services space, Quikr announced the acquisition of Stepni, a service that connects vehicle owners with local auto service (such as repair and/or cleaning services). We reported here.
It even acquired Hiree.com to strengthen its presence in the white-collared jobs space. Hiree.com is backed by IDG Ventures.
In the real estate space, Quikr acquired Realty Exchange (IRX), RealtyCompass and CommonFloor in the last few months and made a strategic investment in A N Virtual Tech.
