W3 Ltd., owner of a number of classified sites, including Vivastreet and EasyRoommate, launched an investment fund to support online marketplaces.

This fund started operations with a first investment of €1 million ($1.1 million U.S.) in PopMyDay, a start-up focused on beauty and wellness services from a network of vetted professionals.

Going forward, the fund will support innovative online start-ups and will also serve as an incubator. W3 Ltd. will share its knowledge in the areas technical, marketing and client service, and offer investments ranging from €500,000 to €1 million.

W3 Ltd. was established by French internet entrepreneur Yannick Pons, and now operates in 25 countries. It launched a French version of EasyRoommate, called Appartager.com, in 2014 (we reported here).
