15 Jan 2017
As a result, MercadoLibre’s board of directors rose to ten people.
The nomination of Aguzin, currently chairman and CEO at J.P. Morgan Asia Pacific, was unanimous, following the recommendation of Meli’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee Board. It was also in accordance with the company’s bylaws.
Aguzin should receive the same fees and compensation as other independent directors for similar services.
Meli’s outside directors receive an annual fee for board services, which is comprised of a non-adjustable board service award and an adjustable board service award.
More details on the company’s director compensation program can be seen here.
Nicolas Aguzin (48) spent over 26 years of his career in the private investment sector, mostly at J.P. Morgan, first as an analyst based in Buenos Aires, and then as head of M&A and CEO for Latin America in New York.
