In the Czech Republic, Seznam.cz, owner of general classifieds site Sbazar and auto site Sauto, purchased a 17-percent stake in Zavezu.cz, a community app for transport services.

The purchase price was not revealed. The app will be integrated in Seznam’s Sbazar, as another way to deliver purchased goods, the company said in its blog post announcing the transaction.

Zavezu makes it possible to order transport of various types of goods through the mobile and web app.

Users specify what type of object is to be transported, from where to where, when and at what price. Then they choose verified “ferrymen” and can track the transport of the consignment until it is successfully delivered.

The app was launched in 2016. Among its first contracts were for delivery of unexpected goods, such as apricots and frozen carton soups.

Seznam’s Sbazar.cz is a leading general classified site in the Czech Republic, competing with such marketplaces as Aukro.cz or Bazos.cz.

In December last year SBazar received 7.5 million visits, while Bazos counted 11.8 million visits, and Aukro had 8.6 million visits (desktop and mobile web sites) in the same month, as measured by SimilarWeb.com.
