Last Friday, Scott Forbes, chairman of Rightmove, announced the forthcoming retirement of Nick McKittrick from the company after sixteen years of service in different management positions.

McKittrick co-founded the company in 2000, served as COO for eight years and then as CEO since 2013.

Nick McKittrick, “… a modest leader … “, said chairman.

Forbes had the following to say about McKittrick’s remarkable run.

“After 16 years of leadership, as remarkable for his success, as for the modest way he achieved it, Nick McKittrick has decided to retire as chief executive officer and director of the board at the forthcoming AGM on May 9, 2017.

“Nick will remain in the company until June 30, 2017 to ensure a smooth transition. I speak on behalf of the board and Rightmove employees, when I say that we will miss Nick on both a personal and professional level.

“Nick will pass the baton to Peter Brooks-Johnson, our chief operating officer and director of the board since 2011.

“The board always has a focus on long-term succession plans, and in Peter we have a strong, experienced and ready successor, who has held positions of responsibility for nearly every functional area within Rightmove.”
