Lehrberuf.info, Austria’s largest site for apprenticeship positions at companies, launched new products for job seekers and firms. For job seekers, it now bundles job search services into a three-step process. Firms have an additional employer-branding option.

In 2013, Russmedia Digital purchased a stake in Hibe IT, operator of Lehrberuf.info, before acquiring 100 percent of the company last year. With Russmedia on board, the platform undertook a major overhaul in 2014, launching a mobile version and employer branding for firms.

Now, the site rolled out the second, significant upgrade.

Updated Lehrberuf.info site

On the upgraded site (with new products), job seekers are directed to take either an occupation, or a career test, before being shown positions that match their types.

They then create an extensive profile (with guided steps), and, finally, see (and can apply for) open apprenticeships that match their interests and education. These are rated by fit.

About 16,000 apprenticeships are currently advertised by 3,500 Austrian firms on Lehrberuf.info.

The career tests and the matching methodology were developed as a joint venture by Lehrberuf.info and TalentsConnect, the site operated by the 22Connect, a Cologne-based firm specializing in recruiting management software, which has Marc Stilke, former CEO of ImmobilienScout24, as a member of its board.

Listing is free, but firms can make their recruitment processes more efficient by subscribing to tools on Lehrberuf. For instance, employers now have the option to add employer-branding videos to their job descriptions. Also, firms can sign up for access to the so-called Bewerbungsportal.

This is offered by Lehrberuf.info, and administered by TalentsConnect. Signed-up firms receive the profiles of candidates who match their open jobs. So, signed-up firms can pro-actively approach candidates, and don’t always have to respond to applications only.

In the near future, Lehrberuf will also share job information using WhatsApp Messenger, according to an article in Vienna.at (here in German), which is, incidentally, also owned by Russmedia Group.

Founded in 2006 and based in Vienna, Lehrberuf.info is by far the largest site of its kind in Austria. It claims to have 35,000 users each month. Direct competitors are Lehrlingsportal.at (1,847 jobs and 408 firms) and Lehrstellen.at (315 jobs and 591 firms).
