Otodom to launch a dating site for real estate agents

12 May 2017

In Poland, Naspers’ real estate site Otodom.pl announced plans to launch a dating site for real estate agents. Sounds like a joke? Read on.

The project was disclosed in a post on Otodom’s blog, and it seems to be the site’s latest idea for building the image and awareness of its brand among realtors. In the blog post, Otodom asked real estate agents to participate in a contest for finding a name for the dating site. It also revealed a few details about the project.

The dating site will be designed to make it easier for real estate agents to get to know people who work in the sector and have similar interests. That is why the dating site search engine will have the ability to sort candidates not only by location and age, but also by:

– professional specialization (e.g. houses, flats, farms, rentals),
– interests (e.g. fishing, evening reading of the land register, monitoring of the records of abusive records, high-risk sports),
– personality types (e.g. cultural, entertaining, indoors), and
– appearance (e.g. height, weight, foot size).

Otodom also said it had invited well-known real estate professionals to be ambassadors and the brand faces of its dating site. It didn’t reveal any names. The launch date of the new site is also unknown.

Otodom and the real estate section of Naspers’ OLX.pl together receive 6.7 million unique users and are way ahead of Polska Press’ Gratka.pl (about 1.5 million unique users), Morizon’s Morizon.pl and NNV’s Nieruchomosci-online.pl (both receive about a million unique users), and Agora’s Domiporta.pl (about 500,000 unique users), according to Megapanel PBI/Gemius in January 2017.
