Allegro Group, operator of Allegro.pl, Poland’s largest marketplace for new and used goods, appointed Grzegorz Czapski as development director – a newly created position in the company.
Czapski (photo left and his LinkedIn profile) will be responsible for the acquisitions, business partnerships, development of strategic projects and corporate governance.
Hiring Czapski is the result of Allegro’s new strategy to grow through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Czapski brings to Allegro extensive experience in this field, Przemysław Budkowski, CEO of Allegro, said in the news release announcing the move.
Czapski joined Allegro from WP Holding, where he was responsible for building an e-commerce area from scratch and overseeing the business of fashion and beauty, home and interiors, tourism and personal finance. He also conducted several acquisitions of e-commerce and online media companies.
Earlier, Czapski supervised merger and acquisitions at GTS Central Europe SARL. He also worked as senior manager in business consulting at PwC.
In July this year, Allegro received 195.2 million visits to its desktop and mobile websites, as measured by SimilarWeb.com.
