AutoEdit tool of Motors.co.uk sells autos faster

Leading U.K. auto site Motors.co.uk and fellow Cox Automotive site Dealer-Auction.com are collaborating to speed up the sales process. With AutoEdit Go, Motors.co.uk’s new, online stock registration platform, a dealer who bought a car on trade-only auction site Dealer-Auction.com, can now instantly advertise his new stock.
There is no additional fee for using AutoEdit, which is available to anyone who is a joint Motors/Dealer-Auction customer.
“This arrangement cuts the number of days from buying a vehicle to listing it down from seven to zero,” Dermot Kelleher, director of marketing and business intelligence at Motors.co.uk, told the AIM Group. The Motors.co.uk network of sites includes Parkers, Honest John and RAC Cars, so the new tool enables dealers to reach more than five million car buyers each month.
Kelleher declined to give an exact figure for the number of dealers using it, but said the company is “pleased with the early take-up of this service”.
Dealer-Auction.com has more than 1,100 vehicles for sale and has an audience of 4,500 dealers across the U.K..
Even if only a fraction of sales are relisted same-day (instead of in seven days), it will bring about a significant reduction in the average length of the sales cycle in the U.K..
This will, in turn, bring major savings (in time and money) for dealers, while increasing vehicles available to consumers, Kelleher said.
