Malte Krueger, managing director of Mobile.de, Germany’s leading auto vertical, has also been appointed the head of the country’s largest stuff site, EBay Kleinanzeigen. This according to a recent report in AutombilWoche.de (in German).

Malte Krueger

Krueger (Xing profile) started in the new role at the end of February and oversees EBay Kleinanzeigen managing directors while continuing to lead Mobile.de. He won the crazy-long job title of Vice President EBay Classifieds Germany (Mobile.de and EBay Kleinanzeigen) and ECG Global Motors Lead eBay.

The title shows he’s also directing the new auto vertical within EBay Classifieds Group (ECG) that we reported on back in November. Mobile.de and EBay-Kleinanzeigen are also part of ECG.

It’s still unclear what the Global Motors vertical is and how it will complement Mobile.de and Bilbasen, the Danish auto site also owned by ECG.

Essentially, EBay has consolidated its German ECG operations and put Krueger, who is based in Berlin, in charge. In July, EBay Kleinanzeigen moved operations from the Netherlands to Berlin, where Mobile.de is located. The Global Motors operation has offices in Berlin and Amsterdam, according to job ads on LinkedIn.

This week, Mobile.de officially launched an auto financing tool that enables buyers to see financing options by inputting just two data points. We reported on the beta launch in January. In the announcement this week (in German), Krueger said that in January alone, 800,000 buyers used the product.

Krueger joined Mobile.de in 2009, first as senior director, and in 2012, as managing director.
