In Finland, Alma Media has acquired a 20-percent stake in Etua.fi, a provider of competitive tender services for loans and insurances, for an undisclosed amount.

Etua.fi allows users to compare consumer credits, renovation loans, travel loans, loans without collateral and housing loans. The company works with more than 20 financial companies. It has forwarded 880,000 loan applications, submitted through the online service, to its partners since its foundation in 2008.

In 2017, Etua had about €2.5 million in revenue, according to Alma Media.

The transaction will allow Alma Media to expand its digital marketplaces in Finland to include Etua’s loan comparison services. This is according to Alma  News and Life business unit’s senior VP Kari Kivelä (LinkedIn profile) in the news release announcing the transaction.

Alma Media’s marketplaces include the real estate sites Etuovi.com and Vuokraovi.com; the travel portal Gofinland.fi; and the automotive verticals and services Autotalli.com,

Media group Alma Media focuses on digital services and publishing. The company’s headquarters are in Finland, but it also operates in other Nordic countries, the Baltics, and Central Europe. The company is listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
