The Allegro Group, operator of Poland’s largest marketplace for new and used goods, has launched a chat service to enhance customer experience on the site.

The feature is only available to sellers using the site’s advertising options, but it will be made available to all users in the future.

Before introducing the chat feature, the company’s customer experience team conducted multiple surveys with platform users. Their answers showed they often need real-time contact with the site.

According to Allegro, the chat feature is just the beginning of improvements it plans to make to customer service contact channels on the site. In a blog post, the company said it plans to roll out more features within the next year and a half.

In February 2018, Allegro received a massive 243 million visits to its desktop and mobile websites, according to SimilarWeb. The site is owned by private equity firms Cinven, Permira and Mid Europe; who bought it from Naspers. The AIM Group reported on the acquisition in October 2016.
