Originally founded in South Africa in 2010, Wealth Migrate is now based in Hong Kong, where it helps investors invest in blue-chip properties for as little as $1,000 U.S.

South African Clarke (LinkedIn profile) has served as a non-executive director for the company since February 2017. This is his first major move since the Ringier Africa and One Africa Media merger was completed last year. When the AIM Group spoke to him at the time, he said he would be taking a short break before deciding his next move in 2018.

Clarke has ample experience when it comes to the real estate sector. While steering One Africa Media he founded South Africa’s second-largest real estate vertical PrivateProperty.co.za. The site was left out of the Ringier Africa merger and has since been sold to Caxton Publishers. (We reported on the sale here.)

In a statement, Wealth Migrate CEO and co-founder Scott Picken (LinkedIn profile) said Clarke has already had a “massive” impact on the company over the last 12 months as a director. ” [He] has played a critical role in guiding the company to focus on what is most important for a high growth technology company.”

In his new role, Clarke will focus on the platform, team, execution, and growth.
