German global job boards group StepStone will acquire Swedish employer branding site Universum for an undisclosed amount, the group’s parent company Axel Springer SE announced today (in German).
“Together with Universum, StepStone will offer its customers even better, tailored solutions to gain suitable employees,” it said.
Universum says it’s built “the largest career preference data set in the world,” by surveying around 1.5 million university students and professionals annually. It uses this data to advise companies on employer branding strategies. The company was founded in 1988 and works with 2,000 businesses in 60 countries.
StepStone continues to build out its products for recruiters. Last year, it launched Company Hub, an employer branding feature for clients that combines company profiles with Glassdoor-like ratings and commentary.
Whether Universum will be integrated into Company Hub or offered as a standalone product remains to be seen.
The acquisition is pending approval by competition authorities.
