Indian automobile marketplace Droom has announced the launch of its custom bikes segment which will facilitate custom bike sales and offer customers the chance to get bikes modified per their requirements.

Droom logoThe company has already partnered with two independent custom bike dealers and plans to form more partnerships in the future. Droom has been a hive of activity lately, with its recent foray into the used-taxi market and IPO plans for 2019. It also recently introduced a range of new products including pricing engine Orange Book Value (OBV) and ECO-certified inspection reports.

The custom bikes segment is currently confined to b-to-c and c-to-c transactions. According to a Droom’s blog post, the customized bikes are available for a starting price of $1050 (₹70,000). A buyer is required to pay two percent of the selling price as a token amount when selecting the vehicle. After the payment, buyer and seller are acquainted to discuss the modification process.

Speaking to Business Standard, Droom CEO Sandeep Aggarwal emphasized the company’s youth-focused model. Aggarwal aims to cater to the bike modification craze among younger generations. He was vocal about Droom’s ambitions to lead the auto market and hopes to realize it with ventures like the latest custom bikes segment.
