Paris-based startup Comet — which connects corporate recruiters with freelances in tech and data fields — has just raised €11 million ($13 million U.S.) from Otium Venture and Daphni.

The proceeds will finance the site’s expansion in Europe, starting in the U.K. and Germany. Comet already raised €2 million ($2.3 million U.S.) last year, FrenchWeb reported.

The site was launched by Arnaud Aubry (LinkedIn profile), Valentin Cordier (LinkedIn profile), Charles Thomas (LinkedIn profile) and Joseph Wiel (LinkedIn profile) in September 2016. It relies on a matching algorithm and claims it can find a specialist within 48 hours.

Comet also provides services to freelancers. It’s partnered with Alan, a provider of health insurance for freelancers, and Shine, which supplies mobile banking services.

The site has a database of 1,500 experts and its clients include Renault and Engie. The portal aims to create an ecosystem for independents, CEO Charles Thomas told FrenchWeb.
