Japanese Internet firm NestRest has launched a property search engine dedicated to foreign students looking for accommodations called StudenDorm.com

The multilingual site, available in English, Chinese and Korean,  is free for home-seekers, according to a news statement. An agent commission may be charged once a contract has been signed, however. The site also provides guarantor service to foreign residents. It currently lists around 3,000 rentals.

Established in Sept. 2011, Tokyo-headquartered NestRest Inc. already operates another students-oriented property site GakuRoom.jp in the Japanese language.  The site has so far helped 1,200 students find accommodations.

GPlus Media also operates a foreigner-focused multilingual property site RealEstate.co.jp. Japanese property sites are taking an increased interest in catering to a growing inbound demand. Recent entrants to the vacation rental business include big names like Rakuten Lifull Stay Inc. and Suumo.jp. The former has inaugurated a six-story hostel with 60 beds (we reported on it here).
