, the largest marketplace for new and used goods in Poland, has announced that it will add Apple Pay as a new payment gateway within the next few months.

The company’s corporate communications director Paweł Klimiuk (LinkedIn profile) shared the news with fintech news site recently.

Apple Pay was launched in Poland on June 19. According to Cashless’ estimates, the service has been used by 200,000 users within the first ten days since its debut.

Until now, iPhone users could pay with Apple Pay in brick-and-mortar stores, but not online. Allegro will be the first large online marketplace in Poland to launch Apple Pay, Cashless reported.

The company added Android Pay as a new payment gateway on its Android app in April 2017 (we reported on the change here).

Allegro is the largest e-commerce site in Poland. It received 204 million visits to its desktop and mobile websites in June, according to SimilarWeb.
