Cars.com has appointed digital veteran Doug Miller as the company’s new chief revenue officer. He succeeds John Clavadetscher (LinkedIn profile) who held the job for more than two years and spent two decades with the auto vertical.
Miller (LinkedIn profile) most recently served as the CEO of Chatbox, which created a messaging platform for sales and service teams to share data with customers. He previously served as chief revenue officer at LivingSocial — an online consumer marketplace which grew to a global company with nearly $2 billion in sales during his tenure. His other work experience includes executive positions at Expedia, Citysearch, and Ticketmaster.
In his new role, Miller will manage and grow relationships with more than 20,000 local auto dealers, national dealer groups and dozens of car manufacturers. Known for his strengths in running global sales teams and growing companies, his appointment comes at a time when Cars.com has declared a growth agenda.
Launched in 1998, Chicago-based Cars.com connects buyers and sellers. According to the site, it currently connects millions of consumers with thousands of dealers nationwide.
Earlier this year, Cars.com acquired Dealer Inspire, a company that helps dealerships handle changing consumer behavior and streamline car buying. Other Cars.com properties include Auto.com, DealerRater, PickupTrucks.com, and NewCars.com.
