Alma Career closes Monster in Poland, Hungary

Alma Media subsidiary Alma Career has announced that it will close and and discontinue the operations of Monster Worldwide Polska Sp. z o.o. in Poland and Monster Magyarorszag Kft in Hungary by the end of 2018.

In the news release announcing the move, Alma Media said the companies’ combined revenue came in at approximately €1.1 million ($1.2 million U.S.) in 2017.

The company will now focus on the development of its mobile job app, which was launched in Poland in spring 2018 (more), and the online service in Hungary.

Alma Career’s recruitment sites in Finland and in the Czech Republic will continue as before, the company said.

Alma Career Oy is a joint venture of Alma Media and Monster Worldwide Inc., with Alma owning 83.3 percent of the company. It manages recruitment services operating under the Monster brand with its technology platform in the Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, and Hungary. It also owns other job sites in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Alma Media focuses on digital services and publishing. The company is headquartered in Finland but also operates in other Nordic countries, the Baltics, and Central Europe. It’s listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
