Recruit Holdings tests AI to retain employees

World leading matching platform Recruit Holdings has deployed an artificial intelligence system, across all its ventures, on an experimental basis to preempt resignations from its employees, Nikkei Asian Review reported.

The AI system predicts the possible reasons why employees may quit, after analyzing past behavior. It crosschecks performance appraisals, working hours, remuneration and other performance data of incumbent employees with those who left the organization in the past.

The system then presents these reasons and suggests measures to retain staff members. The group currently employs 40,000 people.

If the system is successful, it may eventually become a new recruitment service Recruit can offer to its long list of clients. Recruit introduced an innovative tool called Geppo to help employers measure their staff’s satisfaction levels in June last year (we reported on the launch here).

Recruit Holdings was founded in 1960 and operates at least 18 recruitment, auto, and real estate sites, along with dozens of staffing companies worldwide. Its domestic jobs sites include Next.Rikunabi.com, Froma.com, Haken.Rikunabi.com, Toranet.jp, Hatalike.jp, CareerCarver.jp and side-jobs site BizGrowth.

The company’s international portfolios include Indeed.comGlassdoor, Canadian job site Workopolis.com and CV site Resume.com.

In Japan, Recruit Holdings faces competition from staffing firms DIP Corp.Persol HoldingsMyNavi Corp. and CareerIndex.jp.
