Tobias Hartmann, who is currently responsible for HelloFresh‘s U.S. operations, has been appointed as Scout24‘s new CEO. He will take over from Greg Ellis, who decided to step down for personal reasons by the end of December 2018.
Commenting on his appointment, Hartmann (LinkedIn profile) said: “Scout24 is a highly profitable company with a very good market position. I look forward to developing Scout24 decisively, together with the team, and to leveraging the enormous growth potential of the marketplaces in the areas of housing and mobility.”
The company operates the digital marketplaces ImmobilienScout24 and AutoScout24. The real estate vertical ImmobilienScout24 is expected to see revenues grow by at least 5 percent this year while auto vertical Autoscout24 is expected to see 14 percent growth, Gründerszene reported (in German). The company recently bought Finanzcheck.de, the German online comparison portal for consumer credit.
Before joining HelloFresh, Hartmann was president of U.S.-based Radial Inc., a multi-national provider of omnichannel e-commerce services. He also served as a member of the executive management team at Loyalty Partner GmbH to launch the loyalty platform “Payback”.
WirtschaftsWoche reports that Scout24 CFO Christian Gisy (LinkedIn profile) had hoped to become Greg Ellis’ successor. As a consequence of Hartmann’s appointment, he decided to not extend his contract and will step down in 12 months, at the latest. A new CFO has not yet been appointed.
