Leading Vietnamese horizontal ChoTot.com, which is owned by digital media firm 701Search, has appointed Nguyen Ngoc Hai Duong as its new chief executive officer.

Hai Duong (LinkedIn profile) succeeds Bryan Teo (LinkedIn profile) who led the start-up’s growth as CEO for 7 years. Teo will return to Singapore as the chief operating officer for 701Search Group, which is owned by Norwegian Telenor Telecommunications Group.

The new CEO has been working with ChoTot for more than six years. She has held a number of important positions at the company as head of marketing and business development and was promoted to the COO position in Jan. 2016. 

Marketing brand lead Tran Ngoc Cat My (LinkedIn profile) said ChoTot has been growing steadily with a 13 percent increase in visitors and a 14 percent increase in successful transactions in the first half of 2018, compared to the same period last year.

“In addition to the core online classifieds, ChoTot recently invested in the three categories with prominent supply and demand traffic: vehicle, real estate, and electronics,” Cat My said in an emailed statement.

Chotot faces direct competition from VatGia.com, Sendo.vn and Lazada.vn. Its category competitors include used-cars marketplaces AnyCar.vn and BonBanh and real estate verticals BatDongSan.com.vn, Homedy.com and MuaBanNhaDat.vn.
