Pol Corporation, a science-focused recruiting startup in Japan, has closed an undisclosed pre-series A round led by algorithm developer PKSHA Tech Corp. 

Founded in September 2016, Tokyo-based Pol Corp. operates a job-matching site for science students at LabBase.jp. The site hit the 8,000 member mark in February last year.

The company launched a new service called LabBase on Tuesday. It allows employers to start informal conversations with fresh graduates, using the instant communication app Line and Pol’s database.

Pol Corp. has said it will use the fund to strengthen its development structure, develop new businesses and for market expansion.
