KenKey.co.jp, a b-to-b site for construction machinery and heavy vehicles in Japan, has announced it will acquire its rival site BigLemon from Shin Shin Inc. in the coming spring. Financial details were not disclosed.
Tokyo-based ShinShin was founded in Aug. 2003. The company said BigLemon will continue to operate as normal, with new features expected to be introduced in the future.
Used-cars listing service CarView, a subsidiary of Yahoo Japan, launched KenKey in Aug. The company plans to release an upgraded, comprehensive version of its b-to-b portal next year. The new site will include industry news, a machine catalog, past auction results, and a marketplace.
The marketplace will allow an unlimited number of listings, a real-time chat tool, and auto leasing services.
Tokyo-based CarView Corp. started operating in September 1996. It was integrated as a subsidiary of Yahoo Japan in June 2013. The company’s main rivals include Goo-Net.com and Recruit Holdings’ CarSensor.net. Zigexn Inc., which operates multiple auto, jobs and property sites, acquired used-cars exporting site TradeCarView.com from Yahoo Japan in Nov.
