The company was launched by a group of co-founders led by CEO Iñigo Juantegui (LinkedIn profile) in May 2016. The b-to-b marketplace connects truck drivers with businesses that need to ship goods.

Juantegui also co-founded delivery firm La Nevera Roja.

After launching in the Madrid and Barcelona metropolitan areas, OnTruck expanded across Spain, and into the U.K. and France.

Spanish business news site Merca2 reported that the site helped reduce the number of miles trucks traveled empty by 10 percent. This saved drivers more than €390,000 ($444,400 U.S.) and more than 275,000 liters in fuel.

OnTruck has raised around $41 million U.S. and has more than 130 employees (Crunchbase figures).
