OLX partners with Homsters in Kazakhstan

08 Jan 2019

Kazakhstan’s No. 1 horizontal OLX.kz has entered into a cooperation agreement with Homsters.kz — a new-home vertical. The sites will integrate their platforms and teams to provide a joint offer in the new-home segment in Kazakhstan.

The Homsters’ platform will be available for OLX’s users in a newly-created section with information about more than 800 new development projects. Users will also receive automated assistance in the purchase process.

Homsters.kz was launched as an online marketplace in 2015. It simplifies the process of choosing and purchasing a new home and mortgage loan. According to the company, more than 15 percent of all new-home sales in the country were initiated on its platform. That’s before it struck a deal with OLX.

Through their alliance, Homsters.kz with OLX hope to double this number to 30 percent in 2019.

In a news statement, the companies said they hope to increase their market share and become the go-to place for new-home buyers. They also home to become the preferred customer acquisition channel for property developers.

The Kazakhstan real estate market is dominated by new developments. More than 60 percent of all transactions happen in this segment.

Naspers’ OLX.kz is the largest general classified site in Kazakhstan. It saw 7.8 million visits in December last year. Homsters.kz had 85,440 visits in the same month, according to SimilarWeb.

Homsters.kz is owned and operated by Homsters, a global prop-tech company providing SaaS software for the new development segment. The company also operates new-home platforms in Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, and the UAE.
