ImmobilienScout24 sells ClassMarkets to Kimeta

12 Feb 2019

Kimeta GmbH, the operator of the German job-search engine Kimeta.de, has bought ClassMarkets, which provides software-as-a-service for real estate and jobs sites.

ClassMarkets runs more than 80 classifieds sites for around 40 regional and national publishers. Its national clients include DuMont, F.A.Z. and Funke Mediengruppe. It also operates the real estate search engine Immobilo.de.

ImmobilienScout24 bought the company in 2015. Since then, real estate listings posted on ClassMarkets’ have been replicated on the ImmobilienScout24 vertical.

Investors are keeping a close eye on the real estate site’s parent Scout24. It declined a purchase offer from Hellman & Friedman and Blackstone in January, but might still be open to offers.

ClassMarkets’ new owner Kimeta operates more than 40 regional and niche job boards as a white label solution for publishers. It considers itself the market leader in job classifieds solutions. Together, ClassMarkets and Kimeta run more than 150 online classifieds portals.

“Both companies will continue to offer their proven products and, of course, benefit from each other’s strengths,” Kimeta MD Alexander Roß said in a statement

“Kimeta is the perfect partner in the regional job market,” ClassMarkets COO Stefanie Heinemann added.

Going forward, the companies will aim to move publishers closer together to offer cross-listing options.
