TrueCar has appointed Noel B. Watson (LinkedIn profile) as its new EVP and CFO.
Based at TrueCar’s headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif., Watson will report directly to TrueCar CEO Chip Perry.
Watson is the first permanent CFO that TrueCar’s had since February 2018. He steps in for John Pierantoni, who filled the role on an interim basis for more than a year before resigning in March to take a job at Fair.com, a startup car subscription service also based in Santa Monica.
Watson worked the last 13 years at the travel platform TripAdvisor. At TrueCar, he oversees the company’s global accounting operations and corporate financial planning and analysis function. He will be responsible for leading TrueCar’s financial operations including accounting and investor relations.
Watson began his career as a certified public accountant at Arthur Andersen and then held management positions at Boston-based technology firms ArrAy Inc. and Way Systems prior to joining TripAdvisor in 2006.
