British temporary staffing app Syft (syftapp.com) has been bought by Recruit Holdings Co Ltd, owner of Indeed.co.uk, the leading recruitment site in the U.K.
In a company announcement released today Recruit Holdings said that its HR technology business unit has signed an agreement to acquire Syft Online Ltd through Indeed Ireland Operations Ltd.
Syft launched in 2015 and is a recruitment platform for the hospitality, events and industrial industries in the U.K. It has branches in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Cardiff.
Co-founder and CEO, Jack Beaman (LinkedIn profile) launched the app after his experience of working in the temporary employment market while he was a student at university.
Beaman, fellow co-founder and COO, Novo Abakare (LinkedIn profile) and Syft’s existing workforce will continue to work based from their London and regional offices and the business will operate within Recruit Holdings’ HR Technology segment.
Syft’s app uses proprietary technology to provide employers with a straightforward recruitment solution and shift management tool for part-time and flexible work, connecting vetted jobseekers with available shifts using its desktop and mobile app.
“Syft’s simple and transparent approach to shift work hiring is an innovative solution to the growing demand for part-time and flexible work,” said Chris Hyams (LinkedIn profile), CEO at Indeed.
“Syft’s vision to build the future of work aligns with Indeed’s core mission,” said Beaman.
