Xing, the German business and professional social network, has appointed Dr. Sabrina Zeplin as senior VP of the company’s product platform. Zeplin will join Xing in August. She will develop the firm’s product offering from the company’s headquarters in Hamburg.
Zeplin (LinkedIn profile) previously held a senior position at one of the world’s largest e-commerce companies Otto Group. She was responsible for developing data and AI-driven applications and business models for the company as MD of data.works. Zeplin joins Xing at a time of continual transformation.
The social networking site competes with rival LinkedIn and is mainly active in German-speaking countries. It’s in the middle of rebranding its business. The firm plans to combine all corporate activities under one umbrella as New Work SE, bringing together the various assets it’s bought and developed over the years. The name change is due to take place later this year but its well-known subsidiaries — like employer review site Kununu — will continue operating under current trade names.
The listed company has been on an expansion drive, recently beefing up its recruitment business by acquiring German start-up Honeypot, a job-hunting business aimed at tech people.
Earlier this year, Xing reported a 25% annual increase in its revenues which climbed to €235 million ($267.1 million) in 2018.
