Cazoo, a new U.K. automotive vertical which will launch later this year has appointed Darren Bentley (LinkedIn profile) as its chief customer officer.

Bentley has over 15 years’ experience in key customer and marketing roles and joins from MoneySuperMarket Group where, after working in various senior marketing roles, his most recent position was chief customer officer and he was responsible for branding, digital marketing, customer insight and PR. Bentley will report directly to founder and CEO, Alex Chesterman

The announcement from Cazoo is the most recent in a string of key appointments across the business to put together a strong team ahead of its launch. Over 50 new staff have been appointed this year.

Cazoo received over £30 million ($ 38 million U.S.) of funding at the end of 2018. The new used car selling business aims to make selling a car online as easy as selling any other product online with customers receiving their chosen vehicle delivered to their door within 48 hours.

“The opportunity is huge and I look forward to helping to transform the way people buy used cars in the UK. Our customers will be at the heart of everything we do and the Cazoo proposition will deliver market-leading selection, value, convenience and customer support” said Bentley

“I am delighted to welcome Darren to Cazoo. He brings highly relevant experience and insights to the team that will be invaluable as we build and grow the business,” said Chesterman.
