British horizontal Gumtree has launched a new advertising product for media agencies for its automotive websites.
It’s merged online classified motors business operates as one business so advertisers have access to visitors to each site.
The new advertising proposition is the first in what is expected to be a series of commercial initiatives to strengthen Gumtree’s overall motors proposition and follows April’s recruitment of Claire Howard-Jones as chief marketing officer to lead Gumtree’s marketing activities across its portfolio.
Gumtree said the overall reach of its sites provides advertisers with a combined audience of 12 million unique visitors.
“The combination of the Motors.co.uk and RAC Cars together with Gumtree’s display advertising expertise and technology will provide agencies and brands with exciting new opportunities to reach in-market car buyers,” said Phill Jones, head of motors at Gumtree.
“The motoring specialist elements of the portfolio, combined with the significant audience of Gumtree, provide key insights to further improve advertising effectiveness. Consumers on our sites are in ‘shopping’ mode and are receptive to relevant, timely adverts.
