CareerBuilder has appointed a new CFO — Chet Kwasniak, who has previously served as CFO at a manufacturing company and at Clear Channel Outdoor Americas, an out-of-home advertising company.
CareerBuilder has made several senior executive appointments and had several departures recently,
and is reported to be cutting staff and making other leadership changes. The Chad & Cheese Podcast, with Chad Sowash and Joel Cheesman, has taken several shots at CareerBuilder recently, including a report in June that said, “We’ve heard from multiple contacts that it really feels like they’re trying to prep everything to chop up and sell. … Where are they going to go from here? They’re definitely not going to go up, that’s for sure.”
They reported two weeks later there “has been a mass exodus of executives and very pivotal types … from CareerBuilder,” and speculated “Irina [Novoselsky, the CEO] … is most likely going to be replaced. … I don’t know how else this is going to end but it’s not going to be pretty for a lot of people.”
Kwasniak has spent 30 years as a financial executive at international companies, most recently at MW Industries, according to the CareerBuilder announcement. Novoselsky said “his global financial experience and proven track record will be instrumental as we continue to execute on our version and enter our next phase of growth.”
The company is majority-owned by affiliates of Apollo Global Management LLC. Apollo bought CareerBuilder in June 2017 with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board from Tegna, Tribune Media and the McClatchy Co., which retained minority stakes.
