Horizontal marketplace OLX India has appointed Bhaskar Bagchi as the new general manager of its Cash My Car subsidiary.

Bhaskar Bagchi (LinkedIn profile) will spearhead the operation, strategy, and growth of the Naspers-backed initiative. The company is a joint venture with Frontier Car Group and gives consumers the option to sell their car offline to a dealer.

Bagchi comes with more than 25 years of experience setting up, handling, and scaling large operations in the e-commerce, banking, insurance, and process outsourcing industries.

An alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bagchi has worked in various capacities at IBM Daksh, India Homes, Citibank, Tata AIG Insurance and Standard Chartered Bank. Most recently, he served as the chief business officer at PropTiger — a real estate vertical owned and operated by Singapore-based Elara Technologies Pte. Ltd.

Bagchi’s appointment comes on the back of the promotion of the then chief revenue and strategy officer Sushil Kumar as the general manager of OLX India in March. The development also comes days after OLX India appointed Sapna Arora as the new marketing head.

Cash My Car is currently operational in 10 Indian cities through 50 franchise stores. The venture has been growing at 15 percent every month, prompting OLX India to plan 150 stores across 40 cities by 2021.
