Horizontal app LetGo has ended its operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The company announced plans for the shutdown in April, but both sites have remained active until now.

When you visit LetGo.cz and LetGo.sk now, you’re presented with the statement that says: “LetGo is not available in the Czech Republic and Slovakia”. No further explanations are offered.

LetGo has been highly active in Eastern Europe over the last three years as part of its global expansion strategy, but only with moderate success. The marketplace app managed to make an impact in just two countries in the region: the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Despite a good start supported by a massive advertising campaign, LetGo was unable to drag the Czechs and Slovaks from the classified sites they were already using.

In the Czech Republic, LetGo competed with big, local stuff sites like Aukro.cz, Bazos.cz and SBazar.cz. Its main competitors in Slovakia were Bazos.sk and Bazar.sk.

LetGo was founded in 2015 and received $500 million U.S. funding from Naspers in 2018.
