No.1 Indonesian auto vertical BeliMobilGue has appointed former OVO director Johnny Widodo as its new CEO. This comes as the company recieved a $30 million U.S. investment from Berlin-based Frontier Car Group.

Widodo (LinkedIn profile) joins the company from Frontier, where he was CEO of Southeast Asian operations.

BeliMobilGue has been expanding rapidly throughout Indonesia’s main cities. It’s accelerated sales and marketing efforts since it recieved Series A funding earlier this year. The company will use the fresh capital to further cement its position as a market leader. This is especially important considering rival Carro‘s acquisition of Jualo earlier this month. Carro is now the most heavily-funded automotive marketplace in Asia and operates in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Widodo was a founding member of OVO and comes with extensive experience in marketing, operations, analytics and most recently, sales and partnerships. In the face of heavy competition, Widodo has been tasked with driving momentum for BeliMobileGue. He’s expected to oversee a number of strategic initiatives and will focus on hiring and team building as well as operations and service.

BeliMobileGue has also announced intentions to pursue new lines of business and partnerships. There has been no mention, however, of overseas expansion.
