Tokyo-based recruitment information firm Career Index Inc. has invested an undisclosed amount in temp app Wakrak.jp through underwriting a third-party allotment of shares.

Career Index hopes to create business synergies and growth in the informal job sector by providing new value to job-seekers and companies. The company owns and manages a temp jobs aggregator Lacotto.jp with 1.3 million job postings.

Founded in Nov. 2005, Career Index also runs a career-change site at CareerIndex.jp and a job site dedicated to the fashion industry at Fashion-Hr.com.

Founded in June 2017, Wakrak is only available as an app. It lists daily jobs for students, freelancers, and housewives. The app has more than 50,000 registered members and doesn’t require a resume or interview for matching.
