Former J. Walter Thompson planning head Kumiko Ohashi has joined Japanese Lifull Co. Ltd. as deputy head of creative division and head of brand strategy. Lifull owns and operates real estate marketplace Homes.co.jp and generalist aggregators Trovit and Mitula.

Ohashi (LinkedIn profile) served as the first Japanese female head in the strategic planning department of foreign-affiliated advertising agency J. Walter Thompson Japan, leading branding activities of several companies. She joined JWT in 2003 and was promoted to her last position in the company in 2017. Her LinkedIn profile is not updated.

Commenting on the appointment, Ohashi said she wants to incorporate more women’s perspectives and promote diversity within the company.

Tokyo-based Lifull has a presence in 57 countries. Homes.co.jp is the company’s cash-cow, contributing around 80% toward total revenue. The group’s revenue soared 12.8% year-on-year to Y29.3 billion for the nine-month period ended June 30, 2019. Homes.co.jp’s revenue amounted to Y22.3 billion, up 3.2% year-on-year.
