Japan-based niche job board Aw-Anotherworks.com has raised undisclosed financing through the implementation of third-party allotment of shares underwritten by a venture capital firm. The site was officially launched earlier this week as the industry’s first SaaS-type multi-tasking matching platform.
The site was owned and operated by Tokyo-headquartered Another Works Inc. The company was established in May this year.
The job board allows employers to directly approach job-seekers they are interested in from its database against standard plan for Y3,000 ($28.2 U.S.) / month. There is no success fee for companies. There is no registration or usage fee for people who want to do multiple jobs. Listings are from several fields, like engineering, designing, sales and marketing, public relations, and human resource management.
Skills of registered users are graphically represented to make them more presentable and understandable. Number of the site’s registered users has exceeded 1,000 since its beta launch in Jun. 2019.
Another Works plans to use the financing to build a recruitment management system and improve branding efforts.
Japan is abuzz with side-jobs and freelancer marketplaces. Staffing firms Recruit Holdings, DIP Corp., Persol Holdings and MyNavi Corp. all cater to part-timers through their job boards, recruitment marketplaces, and gig sites.
