A U.S. appeals court Monday ruled against LinkedIn and in favor of open access to data, holding that recruitment data marketing company HiQ could continue scraping information from LinkedIn. The opinion said giving internet companies the right to control information that they make publicly available "risks the possible creation of information monopolies that would disserve the public interest.”
