Thailand’s largest online marketplace,, is on track to increase revenue by 70% in 2019. This is off the back of 68% revenue growth from value-added services in their first year of operation, 2018.

The results are attributed to the company’s decision to expand staff to increase the number of sellers on the platform. The increase is expected to be 40% (150 workers) spread across 10 provinces in upcountry areas.

Like most online marketplaces a key focus area is automotive and real estate sellers (BaanKaidee). The company reports Thailand has 6 million vendors to sell second-hand products online – currently there are 1 million active second-hand sellers on Kaidee.

Kaidee’s mobile app has been downloaded 2.3 million times. The platform has 30 million users who sold 8.7 million products across 200 categories. The company reports more than 8,000 properties have been sold on BaanKaidee, representing 18% of total items sold.

With these results it’s no surprise that the company is in discussions with investors to raise funds for expansion.
