Property listing giant Zillow has signed an agreement with Calgary-based builder Brookfield Residential to list the first newly constructed properties on the Canadian version of the site.

Brookfield Residential joins more than 250 Canadian brokerages and franchisors that have already signed agreements to list on Zillow.

Brookfield is a 60-year-old publicly listed firm with operations across Canada and several U.S. states. It had already listed with Zillow in the U.S.

Consumers shopping for homes in Canada will now see new-construction listings appear alongside resale listings.

Zillow notes that it offers several benefits to home builders, including Promoted Communities, a listing product that improves discoverability and the visual experience for home shoppers considering a new home.

It also gives builders several ways to engage with home shoppers, including email lead forms, links to their websites, driving instructions to new builds and sales office hours.
