MobileJob and JobUfo, two Berlin-based recruitment startups, have launched BlauesBrett.com (BlueBoard), a job board aimed at blue collar workers. The companies behind the new employment site hope to set themselves apart from other local job boards such as Axel Springer’s StepStone, which mainly focuses on executive or academic roles.
In Germany, demand for blue collar workers remains high, the startups say. The companies hope to help close the gap by catering for jobseekers who might be overlooked by more traditional job sites.
“BlauesBrett.com is the largest dedicated online job market for the blue collar sector. The job boards of the future are integrated into a new recruiting world that is dominated by products such as Google for Jobs or Facebook Jobs and in this context takes into account new pricing models and application processes,” said Steffen Manes, managing director of MobileJob. “That’s what we are taking up with our new offer, creating the first point of contact for employers looking for employees without academic training.”
By using automated online marketing, including programmatic advertising, BlauesBrett.com aims to increase the reach of its job postings. Several thousand jobs have been posted on its website since its recent launch.
MobileJob was founded in 2014 and currently has more than 3,500 employers in the logistics, retail, catering, production and industrial sectors using its services to find employees. Its partner, JobUfo, specializes in software-as-a-service products that simplify the application process by generating personalized video applications that are sent to big-name employers such as Lufthansa, Hugo Boss or IKEA.
