Spoticar, a used car brand that operates across Europe, will launch in the U.K. next year. The platform brings together seven separate used-car operations, including Peugeot Lion, Citroën Select, Opel and Vauxhall NetworkQ, under a single brand.
“We want to disrupt some of the major internet used car brands. We work with them, but they’re expensive. So we’ve got to do better on used than we do today,” said Citroen U.K. managing director Karl Howkins.
Although new car sales are declining in the U.K., there are still around eight million used car transactions in the U.K. every year, which provides an opportunity for franchised dealers. Spoticar plans to use its dealer network to sell cars both online and at dealerships, and plans to offer delivery throughout the U.K.
In other car delivery news, auto vertical Cazoo launched in the U.K. last week offering customers home delivery within 72 hours.
