British real estate portal PurpleBricks has appointed Allan Warren as its new managing director for the U.K.

The announcement was made in an email sent on Monday by group CEO Vic Darvey. Darvey explained that the role will combine two previous roles: operations director, which was previously held by Warren (LinkedIn profile) and national sales director, held by Andy Harris (LinkedIn profile). Harris will leave PurpleBricks on February 10 after six years at the company.

Darvey said that both roles involve managing key parts of the customer journey but “can sometimes feel disjointed for customers and would benefit from greater alignment and joined-up thinking.” As a result he decided “to join these areas together under the new role of managing director – U.K. sales and service.”

Warren previously led sales teams for E.On and Homeserve, both of which are in the energy sector.

Last month, PurpleBricks unveiled a new pricing strategy after publishing its financial results for the six months leading up to Oct. 31, which showed narrowing losses for the company.

Update: Jan. 31Property Industry Eye reports that PurpleBricks has made a strategic decision to reorganize its management structure by removing its regional directors, doubling the number of divisional sales directors and creating new leadership roles in the rentals sector.
