Hamburg-based New Work SE, the operator of professional network Xing, has appointed Robert Bertschinger as its new managing director in Switzerland.

Bertschinger (Linkedin profile) succeeds Yves Schneuwly, who left the company last May for Coople, the operator of the eponymous on-demand staffing platform. Bertschinger joined Xing last August as senior partnership manager for Switzerland. He has extensive management and sales experience in the IT and telecommunications sector. Prior to joining Xing, he worked as chief strategy officer at Netstream and vice president sales and alliances at Totemo.

Xing has seen strong growth in its recruiting business in Switzerland in recent years. Annual memberships rose in the double-digit percentage range, reaching a total of 1.2 million. The company also began organizing events such as the Zurich New Work Sessions to discuss topics relating to employment with professionals and companies. Bertschinger will be a driving force behind continuing the company’s strategy.
