Saleh (LinkedIn profile) spent three years as head of SEO at Rightmove, where he was responsible for managing Rightmove’s SEO activities. At Residential People, Saleh will lead the marketing strategy for the company and its commercial property platform, Commercial People. Saleh previously worked for commercial property resource Property Link and Estates Gazette, run by the EGi Group, and at online fashion retailer Boohoo.
“While I enjoyed my time with Rightmove, I feel that I took the brand as far as I could. I have always relished the opportunity to work with and grow an emerging brand” said Saleh. “What appealed to me about Residential People was its potential for growth and the fact that as a global marketplace, we have a unique opportunity to provide properties to potentially millions of customers around the world.”
Leaving a portal known for its high costs to agents to join one that is free to list for agents appears to have been an incentive for Saleh.
“One of the biggest concerns facing agents at the moment is their ever-increasing outlay on portal fees,” he said. “I’ve always believed that agents shouldn’t have to pay extortionate amounts just to list their properties.”
Residential People has over 5,000 agents on its platform and around 50,000 properties listed for sale. It has a further 15,000 houses for rent and a far smaller selection of flats.
It plans to expand in U.K. and start operating in the UAE, as well as other international markets, in the near future.
